PHIL SPECTOR – The Fall and Rise of a Music Icon: Sentenced to 19 Years in Prison!!!

Phil Spector’s really really young wife must be thrilled. Today, the music icon was sentenced to 19 years to life for killing actress phil-wigLana Clarkson.

LA Times Reports:

After listening to arguments, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler chose 2028. As the judge told Spector that he would have to serve at least 19 years in prison — at which time he would be 88 — he remained stoic.

Spector declined an opportunity to address the court and moments later, surrounded by court officers, he shuffled out a side door. It was a quiet end to a legal proceeding that has intrigued the public since Feb. 3, 2003, when actress Lana Clarkson was shot to death in the foyer of Spector’s Alhambra mansion.

Before the sentencing, Clarkson’s mother, Donna, a constant presence at both trials, told the judge that her heartbreak over her daughter’s death was intensified because of the way she was portrayed in court. The defense painted the 40-year-old as a failed actress who killed herself while battling depression.

Spector’s 28-year-old wife, Rachelle, told reporters that she was dedicated to getting her husband “out of that awful place and home where he belongs.” She decried the prosecutor’s portrait of her husband as “a monster.” “He is the most kind and gentle and giving man I have ever met in my life,” she said.

Phil Spector a Capricorn, was born on December 26, 1939, and is 69 years old.Astrologically, it looks like 2010 and 2011 will be especially difficult for him. He recently had surgery for cancerous tumors and he will continue to suffer health issues. As they say, karma is a bitch. I wonder who will play him in a movie?

PHIL SPECTOR – Guilty as Charged, Lana Clarksons Family Relieved at Verdict!!!

Finally, Phil Spector with the whacked out hairdo and obsession with guns has been found guilty of second degree spectordm1603_468x456murder. The Capricorn, can add convicted felon to his music resume.

The originator of the “Wall of Sound” production technique, Spector was a pioneer of the 1960s’ girl group sound and clocked in over twenty-five Top 40 hits between 1960 and 1965. In later years he worked with such artists as Ike and Tina Turner, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ramones with similar success, including production work on the Academy Award winning Let It Be and Grammy Award winning Concert for Bangladesh soundtracks. In 1989, Spector was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a non-performer.

The 1965 song “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’“, produced and co-written by Spector for the The Righteous Brothers, is listed by BMI as the song with the most U.S. air play in the 20th century.

In later years, Spector has become increasingly known for his eccentricity, reclusive temperament and obsessive behavior. The 2003 shooting death of Lana Clarkson in his Alhambra, California home led to his being charged with murder in the second degree. His first trial ended in a mistrial. His second trial resulted in a conviction of second degree murder on April 13, 2009.

After murder charges were filed, Spector married aspiring singer and actress Rachelle Short on September 1, 2006. Also, she is VERY YOUNG. I guess she will be spending his money while he sits in jail.

Brilliant, but crazy, he should have gotten life. Hopefully, Lana Clarkson’s family can finally have some closure. Poor girl, such a waste.
