Move over Real Housewives of Atlanta, Married to Medicine is in the house. The new reality show follows the lives of six of Hotlanta’s most affluent and posh women, including doctors and wives of doctors, as they juggle family, careers and now fame.
One stand out Married to Medicine cast member is Dr. Jackie Walters, who’s Usher and Toni Braxton’s doctor. This season, she shares with Bravo fans her own personal struggle with breast cancer.
Dr. Jackie Walters says, “Breast cancer does take something from us,” she said. “The one thing that I do, I never got to do. You know, I deliver babies. For my story, the loss of fertility is the hardest part.” Sad.
For the other Married to Medicine cast: Mariah Huq is the producer of show. She’s married to Dr. Aydin Huq, an emergency physician and native of Bangladesh, who seems to have a rock solid marriage based on love and respect.
Her troublemaker friend, who’s trying hard to be the next NeNe Leakes or Kenya Moore is Quad Lunceford-Webb. Who dubbed herself “Black Barbie” , which is laughable at best. She recently wed psychiatrist Dr. Gregory Lunceford, whose reserved personality often clashes with her outspoken attitude. He always seems shocked by what his wife Quad says. It’s all about the fame and money, honey. She’s crazy like Kenya Moore but less fabulous.
Kari Wells who’s a former British model, thinks she’s the classiest out of all the Married to Medicine chicks. She reminds Astrochicks of Countess LuAnn meets Lisa Vanderpump, she has been married to Colombian-raised orthopedic surgeon Duncan Wells for 10 years.
Together, they make an interesting combination, one step above Real Housewives of Atlanta. I don’t think any of the women are “Gone With the Wind Fabulous” type but we can expect some serious catfights. Definitely, worth watching.
