fifty shades of grey casting rumorsFifty Shades of Grey is one of the most hotly anticipated movies of the 21st century. Every Hollywood hunk in town, wants to audition for the role of Christian Grey and every actress wishes she was Anastasia Steele. The novel which has sold an astonishing 70 million copies worldwide, has made the unassuming E.L. James, one of the most popular writers in the world. Who will she cast in the film? Is Ian Somerhalder in final negotiations to star in Fifty Shades of Grey?

If you’re a fan of Fifty Shades of Grey, you’ve probably read every casting rumor and made a few predictions of your own. Several names for Christian Grey have been tossed around including: Ryan Gosling, Chris Hemsworth, Alexander Skarsgard, Matt Bomer and of course fan favorite…Ian Somerhalder.

In a new interview, Ian Somerhalder a Sagittarius revealed he recently was standing in a grocery check out line and spotted a woman deeply engrossed in the Fifty Shades of Grey book. (Really, chicks are reading the book at a grocery store. Ha!) While reading, the woman looked up and caught Ian Somerhalder’s eye, and the two “totally had a moment,” according to the actor.

“You could see her blushing for a second,” Ian recalled. “She saw that I saw the book, and i just smiled at her and said, ‘It’s a good read, huh?’ And she goes, ‘This so embarrassing.’” With Ian revealing, the Fifty Shades fan totally pictured him as Christian Grey. After watching the interview here, Astrochicks has to FINALLY agree, we could see him nabbing the role as well.

When will Fifty Shades of Grey start production? Universal Pictures chairman Adam Fogelson recently revealed his company’s timeline for the kinky picture. “I don’t believe that [author E.L. James] had any interest in going to a studio where rushing it into production was the vision. I don’t believe that the second or third film would have benefited from that strategy. And I think that there are totally legitimate questions about what this book is as a movie. I will tell you that it is an absolute priority for us. It’s conceivable that we could be ready to release it as early as next summer.”

Hold on to your holy handcuffs ladies, E.L. James, promises the cast will be chosen by this summer. Astrologically speaking, we would like to say Ian Someralder a Sagittarius will be chosen, unfortunately, we think the stars are more aligned for Chris Hemsworth or Alexander Skarsgard. Stay tuned.
