Phillip Phillips, American Idol’s sweetheart, dropped his new album last week. His debut record, The World From the Side of the Moon, cruised into stores on November 19th. What did music critics have to say? Also, are the rumors true, that he will marry long time girlfriend soon.

Well, Phillip Phillips, can count MTV as a fan. They say, the new album doesn’t suck, and in fact, it is probably the most oddly assured “Idol” debut to come down the pipe in a while, which means they think it will be a hit.

What did our humble Virgo singer say? Phillips reveals, “Man, I’m pretty scared; I’m nervous and excited, all these emotions going at once, because it’s something that really represents me — I wrote everything but two songs — and, you know, it’s kind of nerve-wracking putting yourself out there,” he said. “But it’s also exciting because I want people to hear what I have to offer. I guess it’s because I’m [a] new [artist], but, shoot, next album I’ll probably be just as scared.”

What about American Idol fans? One said, “The album is spectacular – the words and the lyrics. They all come from deep in Phillip’s soul, and touch each of us. Congrats, Phillip, you stayed true to yourself throughout Idol and in this album. You are a “true artist and a genius,” as Randy said. You should get new artist of the year and best album.”

When it comes to love, Phillip Phillips, definitely puts his girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell, on a pedestal. Also, it appears she’s a budding songwriter, herself. “She helped me with a song called ‘Take Me Away,’ ” says Phillips. “It’s not on the core album but a bonus for the Target album.” Phillips says the pining track — which includes the lines “You’re all I wanna see/All I wanna touch and feel in every way” — came from a poem Blackwell wrote about him. Love is sweet.

Astrologically speaking, if Phillip Phillips wants to marry his girlfriend, Astrochicks, recommends do it now baby. Otherwise, the stars will not be aligned in 2015 + 2016,  but would be better in 2017. Lots of decisions, for our Virgo boy. He definitely, deserves all the love and success in the world.
