Hurricane Sandy has destroyed the Jersey Shore, slamming homes and trashing the shoreline. The MTV stars who have called Jersey Shore their second home for the last six seasons, released statements today expressing their sadness over the Hurricane Sandy tragedy.

Our favorite Jersey Shore stars, Snooki, Pauly D, and Vinny spoke with MTV to express their condolences. “Sandy destroyed Seaside — our second home,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi said in a statement to MTV News. “It’s devastating to see our boardwalk and favorite spots ruined. My prayers go out to everyone affected by the storm.”

“My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy, especially our friends and family in Seaside Heights,” Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio added. “A huge thank you to all the men and women who have been working around the clock to protect and help everyone, true heroes!”

“Over the last few years, it feels like Seaside Heights has become my second home,” Vinny Guadagnino said. “My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by this disaster in Seaside and all across the Northeast. I’m here to support in any way I can.”

Governor Christie is working with President Obama to bring federal help to New Jersey. Many families are still trapped on the Jersey Shore along with residents of Hoboken, they have estimated over 25,000 people are stranded and it will take a couple of days to get everyone out.

“I’m committed to rebuilding,” Christie said. “We’re going to do it. It’s not only the heart of our economy, it’s the soul of New Jersey. The Jersey Shore is the soul of New Jersey.” You can see the shocking photos here.
