I guess Presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, and his chosen Vice President, Paul Ryan, are not rock worthy. Tom Morello sounded off in a recent Rolling Stone article, mocking the fact that Paul Ryan is a huge Rage Against the Machine fan. After all, Republicans aren’t exactly hipsters or the embodiment of cool.
Morello says, “Paul Ryan’s love of Rage Against the Machine is amusing, because he is the embodiment of the machine that our music has been raging against for two decades. Charles Manson loved the Beatles but didn’t understand them. Governor Chris Christie loves Bruce Springsteen but doesn’t understand him. And Paul Ryan is clueless about his favorite band, Rage Against the Machine.” Morello goes on to point out that Ryan says he likes the bands sound but not the lyrics. So how can he really like the band then?
Formed in 1991, Rage Against the Machine, is best known for their hypnotic rap metal sound, political views, and activism. One of their causes,Wage Slavery, Morello made the following statement in a Guitar World interview. “America touts itself as the land of the free, but the number one freedom that you and I have is the freedom to enter into a subservient role in the workplace. Once you exercise this freedom you’ve lost all control over what you do, what is produced, and how it is produced. And in the end, the product doesn’t belong to you. The only way you can avoid bosses and jobs is if you don’t care about making a living. Which leads to the second freedom: the freedom to starve.”
If you’re a Democrat, you no doubt disagree with Paul Ryan’s views on Medicare, and his “rage” against the poor. Born under the sign of Aquarius, he’s a smart guy, who definitely pushes the envelope when it comes to unique ideas, and is not afraid to go against the popular vote. Astrologically speaking, we don’t see 2013 as a positive year for Romney and Paul Ryan. On the flip side, Obama will have a tough year as well.
Whoever wins the Presidential election, which Astrochicks thinks will be Obama, we see the economy continue to face challenges. The world is constantly changing and America needs to invest in more education if they want to compete in the future. Obama will not receive a free hall pass and will continue to face challenges. We predict a Republican President will win in 2016. Stay tuned.
