RODNEY KING Funeral, Tragic Drowning Death, What Really Happened!
Sadly, Rodney King died on Father’s Day after drowning in his pool. His fiancee, said Rodney had been heavily drinking and smoking, when she was awoken by a loud splash in the pool. She immediately called 911, unfortunately they were too late to save the man, and was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the LA Times, next-door neighbor Sandra Gardea, 31, said she heard commotion in King’s backyard early Sunday morning. Gardea said about 3 or 3:30 a.m. she heard someone sobbing.
“It just sounded like someone was really sad,” she said. “There was a lot of moaning and crying. Another person was trying to console that person.”
Born under the sign of Aries, “Rodney King was a symbol of civil rights and he represented the anti-police brutality and anti-racial profiling movement of our time,” TV host Al Sharpton said. “Through all that he had gone through with his beating and his personal demons, he was never one to not call for reconciliation and for people to overcome and forgive.”
It’s unfortunate he had to die such a tragic death. Details of his funeral have not been released. Thoughts and prayers go out to Rodney King”s three children, family, and friends. May he find peace on the other side. RIP #RodneyKing.

Since the riots of 1994 it is debatable whether race relations have actually improved or if anything deteriorated as tensions remain high as polarities still persist in urban communities. Then again the aura of Rodney King as a celebrity (how paradoxical) only grew. Perhaps even he managed to circumvent the strife of his circumstances that so many African Americans still to this day consistently find themselves up against.
What’s ironic is that King died at the hands of drinking and weed consumption, the same thing that brought him to the notice of LAPD officers when he was pulled over in 1991.

Equating King with being a “symbol for civil rights” is a joke! It’s despicable to give Rodney King any sort of sympathy when he has repeatedly proven himself to be a classic piece o’ crap. After he got his millions from LA County, he ripped through it on absurd things such as his failed attempt at a rap recording company & mountains of cocaine & enough crack to furnish the bottom of a 55 gallon fish tank 3 inches deep. He did nothing to help himself, his family nor his community. Civil Rights symbol, my ass! How about the hate he helped flame which caused the assaults of many innocent people of various races, colors & creeds including Reginald Denny? Oh, I guess since Denny was a “white debbil, cracker ass mofo” he doesn’t count. King could’ve helped heal the community he lived in after the riots, yet all he did was literally flush that money down the toilet! Shame on you for saying he was anything but a selfish, spoiled & stupid man whom nobody should ever look up to nor emulate.
I don’t think Rodney King is a piece of crap, he was an addict, and had a disease. It’s the same as having Cancer, MS, or any other disease.
Rodney is not responsible for the hate that erupted after he was beaten. The hate came from the LA cops, which two spent time in prison for their actions. What they did to that poor man, happens to all races across the country, when a police department is corrupt.
For Reginald Denny, I feel sorry for what happened to him. He was a peaceful and forgiving man, who did not deserve to be beat.
The people that went crazy during the riots are responsible for their own actions. LA was a very scary at that time. I was really young when it happened but I remember it as it was yesterday.
For Rodney flushing his money down the toilet. I’m sure he had an army of enablers, hanger ons, who took his money as well. Celebrity Rehab who leached off of his sickness, how many people have died from that show, three!
God bless Rodney, his family, friends, may he find peace in God’s loving arms.
A “symbol for civil rights”? Give me a break please!!! Who inspired this article? Jesse Jackson? Al Sharpton?…The man was a lifetime criminal for heaven’s sake!!! Even until his last day!!!
As for your comment Jacy…Addiction is a chosen lifestyle that can be overcome. A cancer patient like I am, may not have that choice. How dare you comparing with Cancer.
May God have mercy on Rodney King’s family…as far as Rodney…he is burning in hell right now!
The quote of “civil rights symbol” came from Al Sharpton.
Addiction is not always a choice and can be hereditary. Ask any doctor.
I would never wish cancer, addiction, a heart condition, or anything else on anyone. I pray that you overcome cancer.
I don’t understand why all the hatred for Rodney King. He was not a lifetime criminal and I don’t understand why all the judgement.
Peace, love, and happiness everyone…someone’s father has died here…have a little compassion.
JC, seeing as to how have cancer you should be careful who you damn to hell. You can end up there yourself. Rodney King has done nothing to you, he had his demons like everyone else may God have mercy on his soul and yours.
Agree with you Peace Maker, Rodney RIP, thoughts and prayers to his family.
