Where is the love for Keith Olberman? The temperamental cable news anchor, has lost another anchor gig. This time on Current TV. Either he has the worst luck in the world or he’s incredibly difficult to get along with. Why was Olbermann fired?
Fans were shocked, when Current TV announced today that Olbermann was canned, one of the nation’s most progressive reports, who was only one year into his 5 year, $50 million contract. What the hell happened? Also, he was replaced by former NY Governor, Eliot Spitzer. Was he cheaper or the ratings weren’t what they expected?
Of course, Keith Olbermann isn’t sitting back, while Current TV talks smack about him. On Twitter, he threatened legal action and claimed that the cable TV networks claims were untrue. On Twitter, Keith told fans he was sorry for joining Current TV at all, calling it “a sincere and well-intentioned gesture on my part, but in retrospect a foolish one.” Astrochicks thinks he’s sorry he lost that HUGE contract!
In a letter posted on Current’s Web site, Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt wrote, “We are confident that our viewers will be able to count on Governor Spitzer to deliver critical information on a daily basis.” Hmm, was Olbermann tardy for the party too many times?
Keith Olbermann, born under the astrology zodiac sign Aquarius, definitely likes to march to his own beat. Smart, outspoken, and borderline eccentric…he definitely can be stubborn. Has his ego gotten in the way or is having personal issues that are interfering with his career?
Astrologically speaking, Keith can look to a tough year cosmically. It’s going to be hard for him to find another $50 million dollar gig. If CNN was smart, they would add him to their lineup. CNN has gotten a bit stale and they could use a little drama on the nightly news. Astrochicks thinks he would make a great evening news anchor as well.
For Olbermann, the drama isn’t over yet and he’s threatened to sue Current TV. Meanwhile, they are exchanging angry emails that you can read here. Everything ranging from Keith missing several days of work to him complaining there was no toner in his printer.Wah! This will be interesting to see how this plays out. Stay tuned.
