X Factor has crowned Melanie Amaro as the winner, with a $5 million dollar record deal, will some of the other finalists sign contracts as well? Simon Cowell has confirmed that Josh Krajcik, Chris Rene, and Astro will all be signed to record deals as well.
In a recent interview, Simon Cowell confirmed Sony Music is very interested in signing several of the artists in the top 12. He said: “Anyone we’re genuinely not interested in, they’ll be let go. There is a lot of interest in a lot of the artists. We can’t sign everyone, but there’s going to be quite a few that are going to get deals. You’re not going to let Astro go. You’re not going to let Chris [Rene] go [or] let Josh go. We’d be mad. But she [Melanie Amaro] is the priority.” Astro and Chris Rene will most likely be signed to Epic Records, since LA Reid is the Chairman CEO of the label.
For Rachel Crow, she’s in final negotiations with Disney to appear in an upcoming TV show and possibly movie. Will she be the next Hannah Montana or Selena Gomez. If Simon Cowell has anything to do with it, absolutely! That girl is ratings gold!
For Chris Rene, his song “Young Homie What You Trippin On,” has hit the top 40 on iTunes. You can buy it here. Lets help our Capricorn boy hit number one. Chris Rene may have not won X Factor but his single is outselling Melanie Amaro and Josh Krajcik combined. Personally, Astrochicks thinks that Chris Rene will have a huge career.
For Josh Krajcik, we would love to see him go the Dave Matthews route. He can enjoy a long career and I think most fans would love to see him play live. For Melanie Amaro, Astrochicks thinks she will be more successful internationally versus in the states. Just because she won the X Factor doesn’t mean she will sell records here. Hopefully, Simon will craft a long term marketing plan for her to make sure she’s not a one hit wonder.
Happy Birthday to Chris Rene, he’s a Christmas baby and turned 29 today. Happy Holidays!
