Occupy Wallstreet went global today, with thousands of protesters hit the street upset over the world’s financial crisis. No longer a bunch of students and hipsters, they’re sending a message loud and clear to the government, WE WANT CHANGE!
Wall Street type protests where held in Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Athens, Berlin, Rome and London. Tired of corporate greed, no jobs, and rising costs, organizers expect rallies in 82 countries, with the protests due to come full circle when they reach New York today.
On the official website for Occupy Wallstreet Protests, the aim was to “initiate the global change we want”. “United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future,” it said.
Arrests today continued in NYC, as park occupation continued in the Big Apple by Wall Street protesters. Half way across the world in Rome, tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets. In Italy, they call themselves “the indignant ones,” which included unemployed, students and pensioners.
Astrologically speaking, the global social unrest is being spurred by Uranus in Aries (the revolutionary warrior) to Pluto in Capricorn (the power of the economic structures), which has inspired conversation and hopefully change that Obama spoke of when he was elected our American President.
In 2012, Astrochicks predicts that Presidential election will give Obama a second term. Allowing him to finish the job he started and actually start making more positive changes in the economy. For the Occupy Wallstreet movement, if it can become organized like the Tea Party, the actual protests can spark debate and make leaders more accountable for their actions.
