In the new movie, “Something Borrowed,” based on the popular book by Emily Giffin, the film explores the trials and tribulations of a love relationship when your engaged to the wrong guy. Starring Kate Hudson as Darcy, the doomed bride and Colin Egglesfield as Dex, the two timing runaway groom.
“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue…” So goes the traditional wedding rhyme promising good luck for the bride-to-be who wear these items as they celebrate their Cinderella walk down the aisle. But what if something borrowed was the groom? In real life, it would turn the most submissive girl into Bridezilla and love hath no fury like a scorned woman on her wedding day. More than a love story, or even a love triangle, “Something Borrowed,” also tests the once-unbreakable bond between Darcy and her Maid of Honor Rachel, which raises the states for everything happens next. It’s a great mix of comedy and romance, a character driven ensemble about real people in a tricky situation.
In the leading role, Dex is played by Colin Egglesfield, starring in his first major feature film role. “There’s something about him,” says Director Luke Greenfield. ” Colin conveys an inner goodness even in his most frustrating moments and makes you believe how Dex could have genuine feelings for these two girls who are so different from one another.”
For Astrochicks, we had the luxury of meeting the entire cast during a press junket. In person, Colin Egglesfield is cross between Rob Lowe meets Zac Efron. Incredibly handsome, with steel blue eyes is more than just a pretty face. Very personable, I found him to be incredibly smart and gracious. I found his character to be believable and even sympathetic. Born under the sign of Aquarius, we predict that the movie will catapult him to major star status.
For readers, who think your engaged to the wrong guy, there’s a service that will dump your guy via email or text for only $25. Seems kinda harsh and really cheap. Personally, if you think you might be marrying the wrong person, it might be best to postpone your upcoming nuptials until you’re absolutely sure. Last minute wedding jitters are normal, hooking up with your bride or groom’s BFF is an absolute no no.
For “Something Borrowed,” takes movie fans on an interesting romantic journey on what love and friendship really means. Giving fans front row seats to all the drama, without having to experience the personal heartbreak. The film opens up this Friday, May 6th, grab a friend and check it out.
