Mad Men fans will be disappointed to know that season 5 has been delayed. Why? Well it’s all about the money. Not from the stars of the show, Jon Hamm and Christina Hendricks, it’s the creator and the producers still in negotiations on how to divide up the cash.
Matthew Weiner, the acclaimed creator of Mad Men, is reportedly at odds with his production partners. Mr. Weiner has said he wants the show to continue, and AMC has pledged that it will definitely return, so the delay is largely due to a disagreement about money. As Mr. Weiner told Entertainment Weekly in January, apparently referring to AMC and Lionsgate, “They are fighting over a very lucrative property, and who is going to pay for it to get made; it’s one of the biggest perils of success — everyone wants a piece of it now, and they are fighting over who is gonna get the biggest chunk.”
What does this mean for Mad Men fans? Rumor is that season 5 will be pushed to late 2011 or early 2012. Big bummer! What will Jon Hamm and Christina Hendricks do with their free time? Well Jon Hamm recently celebrated his 40th birthday, looking handsome as ever. A sweet Pisces, he celebrated his bash with “Saturday Night Live” founder and executive producer Lorne Michaels, “SNL” cast member Kristen Wiig, “I Love You, Man” star Paul Rudd, comedienne Sarah Silverman, an old friend and poker buddy from Hamm’s salad days in L.A.; and Hamm’s girlfriend, actress Jennifer Westfeldt.
Astrologically, Astrochicks predict an amazing year for Jon Hamm and his girlfriend Jennifer in 2012. Possibly wedding bells and another stella season of Mad Men. Most important, we predict an Oscar in his near future. Although the script for Mad Men for season 5 hasn’t been written yet, we predict that Don Draper and Megan won’t last. Will Don Draper go running back to his ex wife Betty? Stay tuned.
