Ted Williams, the former homeless man with a golden radio voice, has become famous overnight. After appearing on Dr. Phil, he entered rehab to treat his addiction for drugs and alcohol. But only after a few weeks, he has chosen to leave rehab and seek out patient treatment.
Why did Ted Williams leave rehab in Texas? He said he felt it was rushed and he felt overwhelmed with his sudden fame overnight. He said: “I love Dr. Phil McGraw… his concern and his caring,” Williams said. “But I felt scripted. I was doing live phone-ins from rehab.” He said he’d never heard of such a thing — checking in long distance about how he was doing while others were in classes.
The good news for Ted Williams is that he is in a clean living sober house for the voice-over community. He said: “That’s where I’m living now.” He said he can come and go but has to check in and give samples for testing. With all the opportunities showered upon him, Williams said, it was a challenge to keep a level head.
Today, he’s had his teeth fixed and Ted Williams is the voice of “Fashion Week in Baltimore.” In fact, Williams is even shooting a new reality show called, “Second Chance At Life,” which will chronicle his life as well as allow him to give other homeless people a chance at redemption, according to his manager. Astrochicks thinks Ted Williams looks great and wishing him the best in his new endeavors.
