Nina Sayers who has no friends, is stuck with an obsessed mother brilliantly played by Barbara Hershey, who vicariously lives through her daughter. Chosen to be the star of the new dance company, Natalie Portman as Nina Sayers, teeters on insanity in her desire to be perfect on opening night. It’s a thrilling roller coaster ride, masterfully directed by Darren Aronofsky.
Black Swan should garner several Golden Globe and Oscar nominations. Hands down, Natalie Portman should win Best Actress for each. Astrochicks would be shocked and disappointed if she didn’t win.
