AMBER PORTWOOD Felony Charges, New Boyfriend Clinton and Leah Custody Battle!
Amber Portwood MTV’s teen mom, represents the ugly side of reality fame. In a September episode of the MTV reality series, Portwood, was shown hitting baby daddy Gary Shirley, her ex boyfriend while daughter Leah was in the room.
After Amber Portwood’s nasty meltdown, the Indiana police department investigated the MTV star and has now filed three criminal charges against her. According to police, Amber is charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery and two felony counts as the violence was committed in the presence of a child.
Personally, Astrochicks thinks MTV is glorifying teen pregnancy and sending out the wrong message with Mom’s like Amber Portwood. You’re famous for being irresponsible, rude and obnoxious. Based on her anger management problems, Amber’s lost custody of her daughter as well.
Sources report, the MTV reality star is taking medication to cope with anxiety and depression. Being away from Leah “is the lowest of the low,” Portwood recently told US Weekly. It’s gotten so bad for Amber, she was even banner from her baby girls birthday. Not over her anger issues but because she has a new boyfriend, mixed martial arts cage fighter Clinton Yunker! Sounds like BOTH the Amber and Gary need some parenting classes, they both seem very immature.
“Amber was furious,” says the source, who goes on to explain that Amber is planning to throw her daughter another birthday party, which will also be filmed by MTV. Hopefully Amber Portwood will get the help she needs. Leah’s going to need a healthy mom and dad, maybe doing the MTV show wasn’t such a great idea after all. Wishing them the best.
What is interesting is how long it has taken. If it had been the other way around, he would have been arrested immediately, and any rights to see the child taken away.
Many think he should have defended himself, but legally he could not defend himself as that is considered domestic violence under the Domestic Violence Against Women Act. If he had touched her in defense, she could have had him charged. Men should never defend themselves from an abusive woman, and when the police are called, they should always ask for female officer to be present as they will arrest the women on domestic violence far more often than the male officers.

Properly, he can now take custody of the child, under the same law, but I would be willing to bet that no one, not even his attorney has told him that. He does not have to wait for her to give him the child, he can take the child.
