A former Bachelorette contestant, Julien Hug, was found dead along a scenic Southern California highway yesterday. His heartbroken father, well known San Diego restauranteur Bertrand Hug, confirmed to KGTV San Diego that the body of the young man found, was his son Julien. The cast and crew of ABC’s Bachelorette, are shocked and heartbroken by his sudden passing.
Julien Hug, who appeared on Jillian’s season of the Bachelorette, was stunned by the news of his death. Jillian Harris said: “I am completely heartbroken for the Hug family. My whole heart goes out to them today as they mourn a precious life that ended far too soon,” Harris said. “It’s very difficult to find the words to express my condolences. I will always remember Julien Hug’s gentle demeanor and kind heart, which will be sadly missed,” she said of the former Bachelorette contestant who had gone missing.
Kiptyn Locke, a close friend of Julien Hug’s was devastated over the news. He says, “I knew him before the Bachelorette season. He was one of the most positive selfless people I knew. Everyone who knew him loved him. He is a guy who really enjoyed life. He was a thrill seeker,” Kiptyn said. “He was a sky diver, he did tons of jumps.”
Sheriff’s Sgt. Joe Borja says that Julien Hug’s body was found in the remote Pinyon Pines area off State Route 74. The area is about 90 miles southeast of Los Angeles. Riverside County authorities won’t confirm whether or not they suspect foul play in the death of Julien Hug. An autopsy has been scheduled today.
