The debate between Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown is heating up. It appears Meg Whitman the former CEO of Ebay, has already spent over $100 million dollars on her California Governor campaign. Meg Whitman appears to have a “don’t ask don’t tell” immigration policy. She claims that she was unaware that her housekeeper of nine years, Nicky Diaz, was an illegal alien. Are you serious? Ebay money can’t buy her way out of this lie.
Today the two California Governor candidates, boxed a couple of rounds in a live Spanish language debate. Meg Whitman, who has refused to take responsibility over employing Nicky Diaz, continues to blame others, instead of taking a long look in the mirror. Meg Whitman at the debate today, tried to blame Jerry Brown over Nicky Diaz’s possible deportation. Meg Whitman said, “Jerry, you should be ashamed,” turned to Brown during the debate and shook her finger. “You and your surrogates put her deportation at risk. You put her out there. You should be ashamed for sacrificing Nicky Diaz on the altar of your political ambitions.” Yes, Meg Whitman it’s all his fault that you fired your loyal housekeeper of nine years.
Jerry Brown fired back, denying any involvement and accusing Meg Whitman of failing to take responsibility. “Let’s be sympathetic and let’s really empathize with the millions of people who are in the shadows and you want to keep them in the shadows and now you’re trying to evade responsibility,” he said. “Don’t run for governor if you can’t stand up on your own two feet and say, ‘Hey I made a mistake, I’m sorry, let’s go on from here.’ You have blamed her, blamed me, blamed the left, blamed the unions but you don’t take accountability.”
Meg Whitman who claims to be tough on immigration has painted herself into a corner. Desperately trying to win the Latino vote while her former housekeeper Nicky Diaz has lawyered up. Will this hurt Meg Whitman’s chance to be California Governor? Lets hope so, Astrochicks would prefer to see Jerry Brown as the Governor, not some former CEO who bought her way into the position. The next few weeks should be interesting. Stay tuned.
