TLC Sister Wives premiered to big numbers this weekend. In case you missed it, Sister Wives is about Kody Brown, a polygamist in Utah, and his four wives. Together they have 13 children and 3 step children.Yesterday, police in Lehi, Utah announced that Kody Brown the star of Sister Wives, is under police investigation for possible charge of felony bigamy.

If Astrochicks remembers correctly, Kody Brown is only married to his first wive and the other three are only “spiritual” wives. I don’t think he can be charged with a felony for living with multiple women. Men cheat on their wives all the time and don’t tell them. For Kody Brown, it’s one big happy family. For TLC, big fat ratings for Sister Wives.

Utah police say,”At the conclusion of the investigation of Kody Brown, the evidence will be forwarded to the Utah County Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution,” says Lt. Darren Paul.

Police acknowledged that publicity over TLC’s Sister Wives announcement prompted the case. Bigamy is a third-degree felony in Utah but is rarely investigated. Kody Brown and his wives Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn have 13 children and three stepchildren. They say they will lead a lifestyle that they want, even if it means breaking away from tradition. “If we raise productive, contributing members of society who are moral and ethical, that’s our final goal, whatever their path is,” says Janelle, 40, who has six children with Kody.

If they are happy the Sister Wives family should be left alone, the only concern is the welfare of Kody Brown’s kids who may not understand the lifestyle. I’m sure this investigation will only help the popularity of the TLC show. It’s a definite watch, Astrochicks finds Sister Wives fascinating. Check it out on Sunday nights.
