AMERICAN IDOL, Kara DioGuardi Fired, Jennifer Lopez Hired, and Ellen DeGeneres Quits!
In Hollywood, there’s a hurricane blowing through Hollywood and his name is Nigel Lythgoe. Rumored to be returning to American Idol as Executive Producer and resident snark, who will take Simon Cowell’s spot as judge.
Lythgoe has decided to change the Fox line up even more, creating a celebrity slugfest over who will be crowned the new American Idol judges. This firestorm hit Hollywood yesterday after Ellen DeGeneres quit. Today, it was announced that Kara DioGuardi was fired and Jennifer Lopez would replace her. Is that true? Fox should have never replaced Paula Abdul with Kara DioGuardi, bad move on American Idol producers part. That leaves Randy Jackson as last man standing, with one year left on his contract.
Over the last few months, there has been wild speculation over who the new American Idol judge would be. Who could ever replace Simon Cowell? Yesterday, it was rumored that Nigel wanted Jessica Simpson, today it was announced that Jennifer Lopez has already signed on. Crazy! TMZ even posted an article that Steven Tyler was joining the line up. Steven Tyler? That’s crazy, Bret Michaels would be much better.
Fox must be loving all this free publicity and every celebrity in this town wants the coveted role as an American Idol judge. This includes, Chris Isaak, Sean P. Diddy, Bret Michaels, Harry Connick Jr. and several others. Holy moly!
Astrochicks thinks Jennifer Lopez is a good choice, she’s a Leo girl full of passion and drama, plus she will attract the Latino audience. Randy Jackson is a bit tired, it would be cool if they replaced Randy with P. Diddy. Of course, since P. Diddy is Jennifer Lopez’s ex boyfriend, that might be too much drama for American Idol to handle. On the Simon Cowell position, Nigel Lythgoe is pretty snarky and could easily fill Simon’s shoes.
At least the new season of American Idol won’t be tired and it will be nice to see some new faces. I wonder which judges Simon Cowell will pick for X Factor? Stay tuned!
