The rumor of Russell Crowe’s death spread like wildfire on the internet early this morning. It has been confirmed that Australian actor, Russell Crowe, has not died, but was injured in Austria early this morning after he fell off a 50 foot rock. No word on his condition.

According to preliminary reports by Austrian Police, he was filming a scene in the  remote area of the Hahnenkamm mountains. During the shot, Russell Crowe lost his balance and fell from the rock.  The accident happened earlier today at about 4:30a.m.(UTC/GMT+12) The remote mountainous area named Kitzbuhel, Austria is used for Hollywood movies frequently.

Crowe who lives in Sydney, Australia with his wife Danielle Spencer, and they have two beautiful boys Charlie and Tennyson. They live at the end of the Sydney Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo.

Most recently, Russell Crowe an Aries, had recently begun a new spiritual journey. Questioning life and religion. Crowe stated in November 2007 that he would like to be baptised, and feels that he has put it off for too long. “I do believe there are more important things than what is in the mind of a man,” he says. “There is something much bigger that drives us all. I’m willing to take that leap of faith.”

We wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully, he will use a stunt double next time.

UPDATE: E Online reports, during the height of the morbid rumor, the 46-year-old Crowe was safe and sound and apparently talking soccer and Australian rules football at his Twitter page.

Since fake-death news does not die so easily, Crowe’s publicist issued the requisite “not true” to answer to the reports.
