Joran Van Der Sloot has finally confessed to killing Stephany Flores. In a twist of fate, Peru’s chief police spokesman, Col. Abel Gamarra, told the Associated Press, Van der Sloot admitted on Monday that he killed 21-year-old Stephany Flores on May 30th.
Is it a coincidence that it happened on the five year anniversary of Natalee Holloways’ death? Or was it the hand of God or divine influence at work? It’s sad that Stephany Flores had to lose her life to stop Van Der Sloot, a playboy predator, who thought he was above the law.
Several Peruvian media outlets reported that Joran Van der Sloot killed Stephany Flores in a rage. According to Van Der Sloot, he caught her looking up information about Natalee Holloway’s disappearance on his laptop, when he went out to get coffee. Really? Or was the psychopath just trying to steal her gambling winnings from the earlier evening? Reports out of Peru, say he stole over $5000 from the poor girl.
The newspaper La Republica said that he tearfully confessed, in the presence of a prosecutor and a state-appointed attorney, to grabbing Stephany Flores by the neck and hitting her because she had viewed photos and videos about the Natalee Holloway case on his computer while he was out buying coffee. Flores, a business student, was found beaten to death, her neck broken, in the 22-year-old Dutchman’s hotel room. Police said the two met playing poker at a casino.
Video from hotel security cameras shows the two entering Van der Sloot’s hotel room together at 5 a.m. Saturday and Van der Sloot leaving alone four hours later with his bags. Police say Van der Sloot also left the hotel briefly at 8:10 a.m. and returned with two cups of coffee and bread purchased across the street at a supermarket.
God bless the Peruvian justice system, the prosecutors and cops don’t mess around. Aruba could learn something about how to handle a murder case properly and swiftly. Now hopefully the creep will finally tell Natalee Holloway’s family where their daughter’s grave is. Give Natalee Holloway’s family closure and let them bury their poor girl.
Thoughts and prayers go out to the family. What a sad story for everyone involved.
