WikiLeaks, has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people including children in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad — including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers.
The first time Nostraboris heard of the “Collateral Murder” video, it came from the right. Usually, when a narrative is being spread via gullible Facebooker’s, way before it even hits the Main Stream Media, it’s worth checking out. This was illustrated by a friend of mine on the far right of the political spectrum.
The narrative that is trying to spin the executions suggests that in Iraq, no bystander is innocent. It also implies that the journalists deserved to die because they were embedded with “insurgents”. This reasoning is not only batshit crazy, it violates the Geneva Convention, article 3.
- Persons taking no active part in hostilities should be treated humanely (including military persons who have ceased to be active as a result of sickness, injury, or detention).
- The wounded and sick shall be collected and cared for and treated with respect
As America gets tired of our nonsense war in the Middle East, the truth behind what’s really happening in Iraq will continue to be revealed. To read the whole story behind Collateral Murder, go to Nostraboris.com and view the video. (warning contains graphic content)
