The Heene family, reeling from all the media attention, after everyone in the world thought Falcon Heene, 6 year old son took off in a hot air balloon, has some exciting news today.

Just Jared reported, Discovery Communications Inc. (which owns The Discovery Channel) has put in an offer of $1 million to The Heene Family to create a show “that focuses on scientific family projects that you can do yourself at home”.

An insider for the network says the deal was sent over to the family earlier today and that the network is very interested in showcasing this family and their science projects despite whether or not yesterday was a hoax.

Some people are insinuating the hot air balloon incident was a hoax, the father denies it. Personally, I watched them on CNN, Larry King Live and they really didn’t seem like PR whores.  The family seemed very genuine and sincerely thought their little boy was in the balloon. Except he wasn’t, he was hiding in the attic of his house because he got scolded by his dad earlier in the day.

I think they would make good tv, how can you go wrong with the name Falcon Heene. A million dollar deal? Not bad for having a precocious kid. I think TLC should offer them a deal and kick Jon & Kate off the network. I’m so sick of them.
