File this under, Celeb Tales of the Weird. Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, were arrested in Texas. Why?  Supposedly, files were  charged for stiffing an upscale Santa Barbara, Calif., hotel for more than $10,000, police tell PEOPLE.

The Houston native and his wife were arrested in rural Marfa Thursday afternoon, and were in custody awaiting arraignment, according to Gracie Parras, an administrator for the Presidio County Sheriff’s Department. “All I can tell you is they’re waiting to see the judge,” says Parras.

According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department, a fancy hotel complained earlier this month that the Quaids had not paid their bill. Their bail is $20,000 each.

They ACTUALLY arrest people in Texas for unpaid restaurant bills in California. Hello??? How may other real criminals got away while they were dinking around with Randy and his missus?

Randy’s a Libra, maybe he can just charm his way out of it.
