Details of Ryan Alexander Jenkins life, continues to grab headlines around the world. Did he have a Jekyl and Hyde type personality? In his hometown of Calgary, Jenkins was sentenced to 15 months probation in January 2007 on an unspecified assault charge.

Jenkins, a VH1 reality show contestant  “Megan Wants a Millionaire,” was the front runner to win Megan’s heart. She said on the show: “We have chemistry,” plus he promised her she wouldn’t have to sign a prenup agreement. More like a restraining order.

Jenkins was described as an investment banker from Calgary with a colourful private life. “(He) says he has left many amazing women in his life primarily because he wanted more women,” the show’s website said.

At least one of those women described him as a charismatic personality. “I’m in shock and disbelief at what I’m hearing and seeing about Ryan,” Paulina Chmielecka told the Calgary Herald.

She said she had moved to the town after becoming his fiancee. Dominic Urban, a local builder described Jenkins as an astute businessman. “He was always a mover and shaker. He built some really nice homes,” Urban said.

“He’s a good guy. It’s really, really hard to believe,” he said. Jenkins died far away from the glare of the klieg lights in a grotty motel near the home of his mother, Nada in Vancouver. His father, noted architect and sometime business-partner Dan Jenkins, lives in the resort town of Calgary.

Dan Jenkins said he had been interviewed by police and an exasperated Nada Jenkins, Ryan’s mother, said she was under surveillance.

“Hah! They’re on my tail all day. I’m in contact with them constantly,” she said.

Walker said he didn’t recognize the man although Jenkin’s face had been all over the news. “In no way shape or form did he look like the man on TV,” he said. “He looked spent.”

The motel manager said the woman paid cash for three nights and when the couple didn’t check out, he unlocked the room and found him dead.

“I cracked the door and there he was, hanging there in front of me, feet touching” the floor, Walker said. “He definitely wanted to die. I smelt death.”

According to his friends, Ryan was in constant contact with his parents during the ordeal. Could drugs played a part in Ryan snapping and killing his ex wife? Sources report that Ryan was consumed with jealousy over Jasmine receiving constant text messages from an ex boyfriend.

A very tragic ending for both families.
