DANIELLE STAUB – The REAL Desperate Housewive of New Jersey Exposed!!!

I have to hand it to Danielle Staub, she’s one tough cookie. She could have danielle-staub-cop-without-a-badgeeasily played one of Tony Soprano’s mistresses. In this case, it looks like truth is stranger than fiction.

The Real Housewive of New Jersey, has just made the “Cop Without a Badge” book a bestseller. Fans of the show are desperately trying to buy the book on eBay at $200 bucks a pop.

New York Post caught up with the author Kipps on a cruise. The former writer for several Bill Cosby series, “Columbo” and “Law & Order” was still on his cruise ship when all this happened. Opening his email account on the ship, he saw 100 requests from people who would “do anything” to get a copy of the book, he says “It’s good, in a way,” says Kipps, who arrived back in New York late last week.

Several publishers are now looking to cut a paperback deal for “Cop Without a Badge” to make it available again. For now, desperate fans of the show must buy the book on eBay, where a bidding competition starts at $200.

“People also tell me they’re on the waiting list at the Strand to get a copy,” Kipps says. “There’s nothing like television.” Kipps, who has a mystery novel (written during last year’s screenwriters’ strike) called “Hell’s Kitchen” coming out in September, says he never met Beverly Merrill. “Kevin couldn’t find her,” Kipps says. Which isn’t that strange, now that we know how her story turned out.

At the time the book was being written, Beverly had changed her name and was married and raising two young kids. The truth was, says Kipps, “the marriage [to Maher] lasted only a year or two. They met, had an instant attraction and it was over — just that fast.”

And he has some sympathy for Staub’s current situation. “Everybody changes,” he says. “It was 20 years ago.” But he is impressed with the way Danielle/Beverly has turned the scandal to her advantage.

“I think she’s smart. I think she knows what she’s doing,” he says. “I think she’s a star and she’ll make her own book deal. She’s hit the jackpot that all the housewives were looking for.”

I have to agree, Danielle Staub is going to turn out to be a breakout star for the show.

  1. Danielle’s whole “my daughters are my best friends” and all the PAINFULLY inappropriate information that they are exposed to by their mother ON CAMERA ALONE (who knows what they see & hear without the bright lights and film rolling?) is seriously disturbing! What 40-something mother of two tweener/teen daughters has a 25 year old doofus hanging around? And he’s not just hanging around – her girls know EXACTLY WHAT happens between Mr. 20-som-fin and their Mommy. One word – EWWWWW!!!!

I hate the idea of Danielle achieving monetary and celebrity gain NOT for her positive attributes/achievements, but for being the human equivalent of a car crash. She talks on the show about how she has NO MONEY to care for herself and her girls and how they may lose their house unless she gets her divorce settlement, blah blah blah – but she throws money around like kleenex (remember the Botox party??) and makes NO ATTEMPT to EARN HER OWN INCOME (well, unless she really IS getting money for doing…ummmm…things not typically reported on a tax return).

I gotta say – all the women are really interesting…I wish more time was spent on the OTHER ladies (especially Caroline & Jacqueline – and Teresa & her husband are very sweet to see together, as well). Guess we’ll see what happens on Tuesday!
