Poor Elizabeth Edwards, she is doing the media dance right now to discuss her husbands affair with Rielle Hunter. It’s unfortunate her book had to be about his cheating ways and not her battle with cancer. Also, denial can be a beautiful thing. It has been revealed that he lied to her over and over again about the affair. He told her he had ended the affair when he had not. He probably never would have ended it either, but luckily National Enquirer exposed him for who he really is. Now, instead of focusing on her health, she has to deal with this. Painful stuff.

In a new interview with Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Edwards hesitated when asked if she still loved her husband, saying trust needed to be rebuilt slowly. “But I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t love him,” she said.

She said: “I’m not going to let it define my life and I don’t want it to define my marriage … We’ll try to put together what we can put together. This is a really good man who did a very bad thing.

“If you take that piece out, I do have a perfect marriage: I have a husband who adores me, who is unbelievable with my children, who has provided for us in ways we never could have imagined and who, in times when I’ve been in enormous pain, with the death of Wade, with the cancer, has been by my side.”

Their oldest son Wade, 16, died in a car accident in 1996. They have three other children. Edwards said she does not know how long she has to live, only that her cancer will likely kill her.

Winfrey also asked John Edwards whether his marriage was intact, and whether he worried his wife would leave him. “I feel like we’re getting to a good place. it’s not over,” he said. “I didn’t know what she would do.”

Seriously? Do you think she would really leave him? He is the father of her children and she’s dying of cancer. Personally, I think John Edwards is a selfish turd. Now, Elizabeth has to deal with whether or not Rielle Hunter’s child is his and he is being investigated for campaign fraud. Plus, he threw his political career away for her.
