Very sad news today, Las Vegas entertainer Danny Gans, known to fans as the Man of Many Voices for his ability to impersonate stars, has died.
Gans passed away around 3 a.m. Friday morning. His wife reportedly found his body and called paramedics, telling them the 52-year-old was having trouble breathing. Gans was pronounced dead at the scene. His cause of death is unknown.
“Danny Gans will not only be remembered as a Las Vegas entertainer but as a man who loved his family, loved God and loved the city of Las Vegas. Danny has been my partner and dear friend for over 18 years. I will truly miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife of 28 years, Julie, and his three children, Amy, Andrew and Emily,” says Gans’ longtime manager Chip Lightman.
Gans began performing in Las Vegas in 1996 after an injury forced him to quit playing professional baseball with the Durham Bulls. The self-described musical impressionist began performing at the Mirage in 2000. The Danny Gans theatre was built for him. In early 2009, he began performing at Encore.
Gans was named Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year a record 11 times in a row. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
