Yesterday, Chris Brown was charged with two felonies, for beating and threatening his girl Rihanna.  Brown briefly appeared in court and was granted a continuance.

Brown’s career in tatters, it’s reported that Rihanna has gone back to her man. Why? Obviously, she still loves him.

In a new interview with Us magazine, her heartbroken father expresses his concern for his daughter. He’s worried that Brown has a “strangle hold” on his baby girl.

“I don’t know what to say, honest to god. I’ve been hearing so many stories. I don’t feel any pain anymore. I’ve gone numb. I’ve heard so much. But I can’t get on to her. Her mother can’t get on to her, her brother told me she changed her email. Somebody has a stranglehold on her. I’m lost,” he said.

Rihanna reportedly told police that Brown had beaten her before and that the abuse was “getting worse.” Fenty says that he’s tried her old cell phone numbers, to no avail.

“I’ll text the old numbers she had, and I call them. One girl answered, and she said, “This is not Robyn’s number anymore.” I asked, “Do you work for Robyn? Do you deal with Robyn?” And the girl hung up, so I don’t know what’s going on anymore.”

It’s sad that Rihanna is cutting herself off from the family that loves her. This is typical behavior in an abusive relationship. The abuser tries to isolate the victim by controlling who she speaks with. Hopefully the couple will get counseling. Maybe this was the shake up Chris Brown needed to recognize he has a problem. We wish Rihanna the best.
