Here is the latest update and rumors on the Bachelor. According to new sources, Melissa never wanted to be the final 
girl, she asked to leave before the fantasy date. Supposedly, she got back together with her ex boyfriend and was ready to fly back home into his waiting arms. According to the the latest ABC Board post, the producers asked Melissa to stay so they could create a “final twist” and have her chosen as the final one. Only to have Jason break off the engagement and end up with Molly.

I have been away for a few days and now I return to se the videos and all of the outrage that follows.
Here is the TRUE STORY:
Melissa asked to leave the show during her F3 fantasy date in New Zealand. She had reconciled with her boyfriend and she had no interest in moving to Seattle to become a wife and step mother.
I told you about this a long time ago. At first she was told that she we would not be given a rose at the F3 ceremony, but then TPTB came up with new plan. Would Melissa agree to stay to the end and accept a proposal from Jason? She would not have to date him after the FRC because he would actually be enganged to his real choice, which turned out to be Molly.
Why would Melissa do this? Because she wants to be a star some day and what better way to become famous than to be the girl who “won” the Bachelor only to be dumped later? A little extra cash didn’t hurt either.
The only problem for TPTB was Melissa’s family. They absolutely refused to go along with this and threatened to blow the lid off the whole thing if they were part of it. Hence the revised home town date with Melissa’s friends, which was actually shot after the FRC.
So Melissa was chosen F1 and proposed to by Jason, but they all knew that Molly was the real “winner” (if you call getting engaged to a divorced 32 year old insurance salesman from Seattle with a kid being a “winner”).
I am told that several versions of the ATFR show were taped. That is why the studio was closed off and no audience allowed. They didn’t want it to leak out.
My guess is that RS saw or was told about one version where Jason “dumps” Melissa on national TV. Another version has Melissa dump Jason. A third version has them mutually agree to part.
In all three scenearios Molly shows up becasue the F2 girl always shows up in ATFR. She professes that she is still in love with Jason. With a little prodding from CH they decide to “see what happens.”
ATFR2 is a proposal by Jason and Ty to Molly, and the thee of them they ride off into the sunset to live happily ever after.
I’m sure it’s a combination of both, or ABC is doing damage control over Jason’s image and the Bachelor franchise. Wow, what a season.
The problem with this theory is that if Melissa reconciled with a past boyfriend – then why would she take a payout to go through this charade to be the next Bachelorette? If she has a boyfriend she doesn’t need to be the Bachelorette.
My favorite theory is this: He had real chemistry with Melissa – he picks Melissa – then after the FRC finds out Molly is pregnant with his baby (from the tent date or the fantasy date) – and that is where all this “closed door” “freakish” ending stuff comes from.
Chris Harrison indicated that Jason made a “gutsy” decision … which would make sense…
Of all the posts and speculations on the boards, I can’t believe you picked that one. I find it very hard to believe that Melissa asked to leave after professing her love for Jason, only to return to a boyfriend she hadn’t gone with for 3 years. Do you know this poster? Do you know he is credible? Do you have other credible sources backing up this theory ? I don’t think so. So why publish what is probably rubbish about a young woman who has stolen America’s heart? It doesn’t make you look good, and I won’t believe the stars confirmed this story!
I understand your point Yin. I’m publishing all the various rumors, posts, etc. so fans can decide for themselves. Personally, I can’t believe he would actually dump Melissa on TV. That would make him look like a complete fool and a jerk.
It’s all rumor and speculation in the end. I would like to think Melissa was in on it, that way we know she isn’t going to be totally crushed. The other alternative is someone took advantage of her heart and tosses her aside for the next girl.
What we do know is that something weird definitely happened. Of course, when your dealing with peoples feelings, anything is possible.
Maybe none of these rumors are true and Melissa and Jason are together. The rumors are bizarre and Chris Harrison’s comments for the upcoming shows are even more bizarre. Just wait and watch and we will get the answers.
These rumors and speculations are getting out of control. The next one will be that Jason and Chris Harrison run off together–that would be a “shocking” ending wouldn’t it?
So many people are ready to throw Jason under the bus and think he is a jerk etc. What happened to “innocent until proven guilty”? Let’s see what happens before we pass judgement on him. So many people were excited to have him be the bachelor and now many of these people think he is a cheating jerk. I can’t believe that after he was embarassed by Deanna on national TV, that he would intentionally want to do that to anyone else.
And I really think that if anything scandelous–like the producers planning the outcome–were to get out NO ONE, not even the loyal watchers like me, would ever watch again. Too big a risk for ABC. Everyone would doubt the outcome of every “reality” show on TV.
I just hope that whoever Jason winds up with, (hopefully its not Chris Harrison) the relationship actually works. It does get a bit old hearing how the “happy couple” breaks up a few months later.
Personally, I think the first after the rose episode will be Jason proposing to the mystery lady with Ty. Then the second one could be them getting married. Possible? I like this scenario better than anything else I’ve read lately. Whatever happens I can definetly say I am really looking forward to the next few week’s episodes.
I want to give Jason the benefit of the doubt, he seems like a good guy. I’m sure he probably is a good guy as long as 25 women aren’t chasing him.
I get the feeling Jason was a regular guy in high school and never received so much attention in his life. I would love to see a happy ending, marriage, etc.
Yuck on the cheating part, oh I changed my mind. At this point, I really don’t know what to think.
