It was only a matter of time, Mickey Rourke’s unauthorized biography will hit bookshelves this fall. According to Bookseller.com, JR Books has acquired the rights to a biography of the BAFTA-winning actor Mickey Rourke, whose recent appearance in the film ‘The Wrestler’ has garnered critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination.

Jeremy Robson, publisher bought the rights for Mickey Rourke: Wrestling With Demons from Lorella Belli of Lorella Belli literary agency. Robson said: “Now that he is back in the spotlight, the timing is perfect to tell the moving and inspiring story of a charismatic and complex man who is as talented as he is troubled, and will fascinate his army of fans old and new.”

The title, written by showbiz writer Sandro Monetti, will be published later this autumn. The book will be based on Monetti’s interviews with Rourke and exclusive stories that he has uncovered during twenty years, covering Rourke’s “rollercoaster” career for the international press.

Rourke made his name as a leading actor in the 1980s, peaking with the controversial 1986 film ‘9½ Weeks’, before returning to his formative career as a boxer in the early 1990s. He made his mainstream acting comeback in 2005 with ‘Sin City’.

It should be a good read, I will definitely buy it.
