I think that Michael Phelps is an amazing athlete, but someone forgot to turn the light on upstairs. Why in the world would he let someone take a photo of him smoking a bong? It’s time his Mom helps him clean house and get rid of some of his “bad influence”  friends. Next they will be selling stories about his “sex and drug” fueled escapades. It just gives the crazies a reason to make up stuff about him.

Perhaps Michael Phelps should have endorsed White Castle instead of Subway. A photo of the record setting Olympian-turned-mega-endorser smoking marijuana through a bong turned up in the British tabloid News of the World today, under the screaming headline “What a Dope.” The photo was reportedly taken at a party at the University of South Carolina last November.

In a statement, Mr. Phelps confirmed the authenticity of the photo, saying: “I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment. I’m 23 years old, and despite the successes I’ve had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me. For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again.”

I hope advertisers don’t drop him. He’s still a role model for kids and everyone messes up. It might be a good opportunity for him to record a “anti-drug” public service announcement.

Michael, a definite Mama’s boy, was born under the sign of Cancer. He is sweet, sensitive, loves his family, and friends. He must be heartbroken over this media mishap. Astrologically it looks like he will bounce back. We wish him the best.
