In a new interview, Stephen King says that Stephenie Meyer may be the voice of youth, but he thinks she writes like crap. Wowza, he’s a brave soul, now he faces the wrath of millions of angry teens. Although, he has nothing but praise for J.K. Rowling.
If you have been living under a rock somewhere and you don’t know who Stephen King is, he’s a popular horror and fantasy writer. In fact, his books have sold over 300 million worldwide. He’s responsible for such horror classics as: Carrie, The Dark Tower, The Dead Zone, Misery, Hearts of Atlantis, Pet Sematary, The Shining, The Green Mile, and many others.
Where does he get his inspiration for his creepy stories? As a child, King apparently witnessed one of his friends being struck and killed by a train, though he has no memory of the event. His family told him that after leaving home to play with the boy, King returned, speechless and seemingly in shock. Only later did the family learn of the friend’s death. Some commentators have suggested that this event may have psychologically inspired King’s dark, disturbing creations, but King himself has dismissed the idea.
King born on the cusp of Virgo/Libra is a very outspoken soul. On the “writing skills” of Stephenie Meyer, maybe he’s just jealous he didn’t write the book. Personally, I think she’s an amazing writer.
