Yes, it may be the 21st Century, but in the Middle East, women are still treated like second class citizens. Although Dubai claims to be the new “Monte Carlo” of the Middle East, they are still BACKWARDS AS HELL!

Marnie Pearce, a British citizen who’s separated from her wealthy Egyptian husband Ihab El-Labban, has accused her of having an adulterous relationship with fellow Briton, Brian Clark. Not only was Marnie convicted of adultery by a Dubai court, but she could possibly face deportation, and lose custody of her two children. It sounds like to me, Ihab filed false charges against his soon to be ex wife, in retaliation over the custody of the children. YIKES!!!

Speaking exclusively to The Mail on Sunday from the home of a friend in Dubai, Marnie says: ‘I don’t mind going to jail. I don’t mind whatever they do to me, but I am terrified of not seeing my babies again. They are my world.

‘What is happening is a travesty. There is not a shred of evidence against me, yet I’ve been found guilty. I’m frightened and feel alone. The past ten months have been horrific.’

‘Many think the only real taboos are gambling and drugs, but the truth is that even having a boyfriend is illegal here. Whatever freedoms we see are superficial. ‘A woman is not even allowed to be alone with a man inside her house unless he is accompanied by his wife or is a member of her family.’

Marnie had hoped for an amicable split and shared custody of their children. But Ihab was determined to have the boys live with him and talked about moving to America.

‘He has made our lives a misery,’ she says.’He spat at me in the street, pushed me a few times and punched me in the face because I refused to sign over custody of the boys.

Marnie faces jail and deportation because her wealthy Egyptian husband of nine years, Ihab El-Labban, from whom she was separated, accused her of having a sexual affair with a fellow Briton, Brian Clark, who lives in the Middle East.

Personally, I would never go to Dubai in a million years. Who wants to support a country that treats women like crap. We wish Marnie the best, hopefully her conviction will be overturned.
