It was announced today, that the controversy of Heath Ledger’s will has been settled. Originally, Attorney William
Shernoff filed a lawsuit in July 2008 on behalf of Ledger’s 3-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, over the $10 million he argued was due to her as the beneficiary. After the lawsuit was filed, the two sides negotiated.
In his statement he said: “The parties are pleased that they were able to reach an amicable settlement and solve the dispute.” No details were released on terms of the agreement.
Ledger, who has won a Golden Globe and Sag Award for playing Batman’s enemy the Joker in “The Dark Knight.” Is expected to win the Oscar for his performance as well.
His daughter Matilda Rose, was born on 28 October 2005. Her father met her mother Michelle Williams, in the summer of 2004, on the set of Brokeback Mountain. A beautiful Scorpio girl, it looks like astrologically she will follow in her parent’s footsteps as an actor.
In other news, on 27 September 2008, Ledger’s father Kim stated that “the family has agreed to leave the [US]$16.3 million fortune to Matilda,” adding: “There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.”
Heath Ledger’s last movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, is scheduled to be released this summer.
