The internet buzz today is Dakota Fanning will join the cast of New Moon. According to LA Times, she didn’t even have to audition. What role will she play? The seductive Italian Volturi vampire Jane. (Jane isn’t a very Italian name.)

Eonline reports, “There were no auditions. They just offered it to her outright, and now they’re in negotiations.”

At the age of 14, Dakota Fanning is already one of Hollywood’s most bankable young actors, thanks to roles in blockbusters such as “War of the Worlds,” “Charlotte’s Web,” and the new movie “Push.”

According to MTV, “Push” director Paul McGuigan said he had few doubts about Fanning’s talent and her ability to play Cassie Holmes, a snarky, teenage “watcher” who can glimpse images of the future. In fact, McGuigan told MTV, he insisted on working with the actress.

I’m sure Stephenie Meyers will approve. Dakota has that sexy but sweet Pisces vibe. She really “feels” the role she’s playing. New Moon is scheduled to start filming in March. Maybe a sweet romance for Taylor Lautner and Dakota? She might be a bit too young. Stay tuned.
