I had to laugh when I read this recent post by AJC.com. It’s a local newspaper in Atlanta. They reported on Deanna Pappas’s big day on January 5th, when her new TV show airs “Getting Married.” I’ve lost interest in Deanna lately, like most fans, but I couldn’t resist posting what they wrote. I think it’s hysterical.
From ‘Bachelorette’ to ‘Married’
Remember DeAnna Pappas? The Newnan real estate agent was rejected by Brad Womack on “The Bachelor” in late 2007, but got her own “Bachelorette” show in the summer of 2008. On that show, she picked snowboarder Jesse Csincsak, then dumped him in November.
With those romantic credentials, Pappas has been named a host of the daily Lifetime Network wedding advice show “Get Married,” which is produced in Atlanta.
“She’s going to be the bride’s ultimate best friend,” said Stacie Francombe, who founded “Get Married.” “She’s the girl next door. Brides are intrigued by her.”
Pappas will do reports on bridal-related trends and features, replacing Jessica Campbell, who left the show to pursue acting. “Get Married” also dumped host David Tutera in favor of Colin Cowie, a party planner and lifestyle guru seen regularly on “Oprah.” The new season starts at 7:30 a.m. Monday on Lifetime.
Yes, Deanna is the “bride’s ultimate best friend.” She’s the girl next door, brides are intrigued by her. Are they joking? Stacie Francombe would have been better off hiring Trista, or some other local celebrity. DEYAWNA, the girl who leaves a trail of broken hearts. How not to get married, by Deanna Pappas.
Oh well, sources say, “Getting Married” PAYS Lifetime for the air time. It’s like a glorified infomercial. Who knows, maybe she’s better at being the bridesmaid, versus the bride. Maybe fans will love her on the show. Stay tuned.
