What was this guy thinking? Straight out of a mobster movie, Gov. Rod Blagojevich took the law into his own hands, and turned the state of Illinois into his personal piggy bank, and was going to auction off the Senate seat, eBay style. He gives new meaning to IRA funds.

On December 9, 2008, Blagojevich was arrested (in a VELOUR sweatsuit) by FBI agents and charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud as well as solicitation of bribery. The Justice Department complaint alleges that the governor conspired to commit several “pay to play” schemes, including attempting to sell President-elect Barack Obama’s vacated United States Senate seat to the highest bidder.

Democratics are running for the hills, including President elect Obama, to distance themselves from renegade Governor Blagojevich. This guy definitely had his hand in the cookie jar for a LONG TIME!!! Why didn’t anyone stop him earlier? What a jerk!!! No, what a DUMBASS!!! If you’re going to be a crook, at least be smart about it.

His career in shreds, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich clung defiantly to power Wednesday, ignoring a call to step down from President-elect Barack Obama and a warning that Senate Democrats will not let him appoint a new senator from the state.

“Everyone is calling for his head,” said Barbara Flynn Currie, a leader in the Illinois Senate and, like the governor, a Democrat. One day after Blagojevich’s arrest, fellow Illinois politicians sought to avoid the taint of scandal-by-association.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. said at a news conference in Washington that he was Senate Candidate 5 in the government’s criminal complaint — a man Blagojevich was secretly recorded as saying might be willing to pay money to gain appointment to Obama’s vacant Senate seat. Jackson said he had been assured by prosecutors he was not a target of the investigation, and he emphatically said he had not engaged “whatsoever in any wrongdoing.”

Rod Blagojevich is a free wheeling Sagittarius. An outspoken and charismatic guy, whose about to get his wings clipped. Saturn is going to hit his ass hard next year, I expect him to plea bargain is way out of this mess. He will definitely do time, but probably more in the 3 to 5 year range. YIKES!!!
