Our favorite Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson, kissed her family goodbye this week, in a touching memorial service. She was joined by family and friends to mourn the loss of her beloved mother, brother, and nephew.

Thousands of mourners flocked to the service to pay their respect to Darnelle Donerson, Jason Hudson, and Julian King. The guest list included: Oprah, Usher, Fantasia, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah, Clive Davis, and the Mayor of Chicago Richard Daley.

E! Reports:

“We just want to thank you all for supporting our family [after] everything we’ve been through,” Samuel Samson, the eldest son of Hudson’s late father, said. “We just want to thank you for giving us some closure. We thank you all very much.”

“This gave us some form of closure. Just keep praying, and God is going to take care of everything.”

When asked how Hudson has been holding up since the shooting deaths of her mother, brother and nephew, Samson replied, “Right now she is just praying and staying strong. Just pray for her.”

The main murder suspect, William Balfour remains in state custody on a parole violation. Jennifer Hudson is said to be in seclusion with her fiance David Otunga. No word on what her future plans are.
