OPRAH - Breaking News, Has Her Mansion Been Destroyed in the Montecito Wildfires?

Breaking news, the celeb filled town of Montecito, a gorgeous seaside town has gone up in flames due to a wind drivenfires1.jpg brush fire. The fire has already destroyed several homes. The homes range from the $2 million to $50 million dollar plus. Many celebs like Michael Douglas, Rob Lowe, Ellen DeGeneres, Jeff Bridges, and Oprah Winfrey’s have mega mansions in the lush little town.

Representatives for Lowe and Winfrey confirmed that the celebrities” homes have not been destroyed, and that neither was staying in the area Thursday night.

LA Times Reports:

A fast-moving wildfire raced overnight and into the morning through the California hill town of Montecito, a popular hideaway for celebrities near Santa Barbara. The fire, the worst in the area in 30 years, destroyed more than 100 houses, along with a dormitory and several other buildings at Westmont College. At least 13 people were injured and more than 5,000 evacuated, local officials said.

It has been reported that Oprah has moved her dogs to the Four Seasons Hotel. Just last month, her 14 year old dog, a Christmas present from boyfriend Stedman Graham in 1994, died on October 27th from kidney failure. Oprah said her dogs are like her children and she wants to make sure they are safe.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Santa Barbara County. “Control of this fire is not even in sight,” Ron Prince, the Santa Barbara fire chief, said at a mid-morning press conference.

This is very scary stuff, such a beautiful town up in smoke. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families.
