I love Jenny McCarthy, she’s not only a beautiful and funny Scorpio girl, but she’s an amazing advocate for children with Autism. In a new interview with US Weekly, she says that her son no longer has autism due to a better nutritional diet. She believes it’s due to his non wheat and non dairy diet.

She says she was upset by the recent snub she received from the John McCain campaign. Initially she was excited to hear that if McCain was elected President, he would support programs for Special Needs children. McCain had spoke out about supporting more Autism Awareness programs and initially agreed to meet with McCarthy. When she arrived, his Campaign Manager said they were ahead in the polls, and he thought the “interview” would be to controversial. WHAT? Shame on you McCain.

She’s even reached out to John McCain - who spoke about the importance of autism awareness during Wednesday’s debate - without much success.

“We tried,” says McCarthy - who currently labels herself a Democrat. “McCain had come out and said he thinks there’s enough evidence between vaccines and autism, so I got on a helicopter [to meet him for] an on-camera interview. By the time I got there, the campaign manager said, ‘He’s ahead in the polls, and this is too controversial, and he doesn’t want to go one way or the next.’”

McCarthy is now desperately hoping Barack Obama, McCain’s opponent in the race for the White House, agrees to champion her cause and address the autism versus vaccines issue.

Let’s hope whoever wins the campaign, they will at least meet with Jenny to discuss the issues. It’s definitely a worthy cause.
