Tragic news today, former Australian American Idol contestant, Levi Kereama of popular band Lethbridge, fell to his death on Saturday night from a hotel balcony. According to Australian newspapers, they believe it was an apparent suicide, the family says it’s not true but it was a tragic accident.

Just a few hours before, his band had played at the Park Life Festival in Brisbane, Australia. It was reported that the 27 year old had been suffering from depression.

As news of his death began to spread last night, three tribute pages were set up on social networking site Facebook.

Creator of one of the pages Christine Rich paid tribute and urged others suffering from depression to seek help. “Very sad to lose a local brother to the madness of depression. When in doubt, reach out.” she wrote.

Tony Tjin posted a message from Levi’s family: “On behalf of Levi’s family, I would like to say thank you for your prayers and kind messages, it’s great to know that he touched so many people’s lives”.
