Still reeling from her husbands affair and bout with cancer, Elizabeth Edwards has kept silent until now. For
the first time, she speaks out about her heartache, and rebuilding trust in her marriage.
According to ABC News:
ABC News’ Raelyn Johnson Reports: Elizabeth Edwards is breaking her silence about her husband, former presidential candidate and Sen. John Edwards’ affair. In an interview published today in the Detroit Free Press, Edwards says she’s going through an ongoing process of finding her feet again.
“There’s a lot of adjustments to make,” said Edwards according to the paper. “When you mention trust, that’s probably the most difficult hurdle.”
She told the paper that had her leg been amputated, instead of a child dying or her husband having an affair, people would not ask, “Are you over that leg thing yet.”
In a move seen as standing by her husband, Elizabeth published a statement hours after Sen. Edwards first spoke about the affair to ABC News saying, “Although John believes he should stand alone and take the consequences of his action now, when the door closes behind him, he has a family waiting for him.”
I really admire Elizabeth Edwards and all the challenges she has faced. It’s not easy to deal with an affair in marriage and it must be excruciating painful to do it in the public. What I can’t figure out is why in the world John Edwards had an affair with Rielle Hunter? She has ZERO class compared to his wife Elizabeth. Sad times.
Elizabeth continues her battle for universal healthcare and has made it one of her top priorities. We wish her the best.

Politicians will be politicians and political wives have to live with it.
Betcha don’t know which president had a love child by a teenage mistress while campaigning (successfully) for office, and how that helped women win the right to vote…
Most people are totally in the dark about HOW the suffragettes won votes for women, and what life was REALLY like for women before they did.
“The Privilege of Voting” is an exciting, new FREE e-mail series that reveals ALL that happened to set the stage for women to finally win the vote.
Powerful suffragettes Alice Paul and Emmeline Pankhurst are featured, along with First Lady Edith Wilson (who opposed votes for women), and TWO gorgeous presidential mistresses.
It’s rocky road to the ballot box, but in the end, women WIN! Exciting, sequential episodes with lots of historical photos are great to read on coffeebreaks, or anytime.
