Food Network announced a national talent search has begun for season five of The Next Food Network Star. Amateur and professional chefs are encouraged to apply. A three-minute audition tape describing why applicants should be the network’s new find should be submitted by the deadline date of October 31, 2008.

Rachel Ray is a perfectionist Virgo like me, only I suck at cooking. If I were to ever to do a reality show it would have to be Survivor, or maybe The Amazing Race. Why don’t they ever do one for the next Oprah, or Jerry Springer? I think that would be pretty interesting. Word on the street is Valerie Bertinelli is getting her own talk show. Stay tuned.
