In the astrology community, everyone has been speculating whether Obama a Leo, will win or not. Originally, many
thought that he would have picked Evan Bayh as his running mate. Of course, as we all know now, he has selected Biden a Scorpio, for his foreign policy experience.
Republican nominee John McCain, whose a Virgo, is the so called “maverick” of the Republican party. He decided to select Sarah Palin, whose an Aquarius, as his running mate. Not vetting her properly, he’s bitten off way more than he can chew. Combined with her lackluster performances in interviews and the Bush administration, he is fighting an uphill battle. Saturn is beating him over the head and I think the election will definitely take a toll on his health.
On the issue of Palin, I think she’s going to tank in the debates. You can’t do a debate based on “memorizing” political jargon. I think Biden will come out of it looking like Muhammad Ali in a heavy weight fight. He’s a Scorpio and she’s an Aquarius, in my experience, Scorpio’s are pretty stealth, she’ll never know what hit her. She has Neptune sitting on her Sun and Mars. I think that Sarah “barracuda” Palin has been stretching the truth about her record, and she’s going to get slammed hard by the media in October. I wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t try to drop out behind closed doors.
The nightmare on Wall Street has definitely thrown the Republicans a curve ball, the result is Americans are steaming mad, and for good reason. On November 4th, Saturn in Virgo will oppose Uranus in Pisces. It will definitely trigger some emotional buttons with the voters. It represents a time of confusion for the country, voters feel let down by the government, and will vote for the lesser of two evils. I do believe Obama will win and it’s primarily because Americans are fed up with the Republican party and are ready for a BIG CHANGE!
Obama has a tough road ahead of him, but I believe he will make a great President for our country. Joe Biden a Scorpio by his side, will give Obama the “inside scoop” on other politicians, foreign leaders, etc. Biden is a very observant man and forgets nothing. Our country will continued to be challenged over the next year, but if we make the right presidential choice, I think we will be back on track by next summer.

What a thoughtful, cogent analysis! I stopped by your site today looking for more political insights! Everything you’ve said so far about the election has proven true. I’m curious though – do you see Sarah Palin dropping out of the race and being replaced – for whatever reason? I’m also stumped by whether this will be a close election or a solid win for Obama. Sometimes it seems close – but then I have moments where I think Obama will win handily. Love your site – it’s lot’s of fun!
Astrologically it looks like Obama will win by a greater margin than expected. The way McCain is handling the Palin fall out is making him look weak. I think the turning point will be the debate on Thursday.
Mercury is in retrograde, it looks like both Vice Presidential nominees will have a few snafu’s. Biden is known for his Scorpio sarcastic comments and unfortunately, Palin may continue to come across as uninformed.
I think the media is really annoyed with the Republicans and the “kid glove” treatment that Palin is received. Media recognizes how much power they have, how they can sway the vote, and how they want to play it out.
It’s going to get worse for Palin before it gets better.
Yeeeessss! This is how I feel as well. I have so much respect for Biden. The way he is being snarked on and compared to Palin has really offended me. It’s the same way I felt in 2004 when Kerry was being swiftboated. The level of tabloid-like gossip is being validated on what used to be “normal news channels.” It’s very disheartening to witness. I cannot WAIT until this is over.
Looks like you were wrong about Palin and her debate performance. Never underestimate an Aquarius. Any astrologer worth their salt will see that she is more about the people than anyone.
True, Palin did better than I expected. But I don’t think enough to help McCain win the election. I think she’s a charming and smart woman. If I have to choose, my choice is Obama/Biden. In the polls, Obama is ahead in the polls by 9 points. Of course, I have been accused that I’m letting my personal choice cloud my astrological judgment. But kudos for Palin pulling herself up by the bootstraps and being prepared.
I heard everyone saying Palin is not ready for vice-president because lack of knowledge, experience, etc.
So I ask you… Does Obama have experience and knowledge , and yet he’s running for president, a nation that nowdays is falling apart..What experience Obama have???????????
Florida asks “what experience does Obama have?” I’m happy to answer that.
How about 12 years in elected public office? He was an Illinois State Senator for 8 years and a US Senator for 4. If you compare Sarah Palin’s years as Mayor (in an 8,000 person town!) to Barack Obama’s years as a community organizer (which I believe are equivalent – did you know the entire population of Alaska is 1/4 the size of the city of Chicago?) – then he still has 12 years of experience to her 1 1/2 years as Governer of Alaska. Which puts Barack Obama 10 years ahead of her in the “experience” category.
Then let’s compare their educational backgrounds. She went to 5 colleges and it took her almost 6 years to get a 4 year degree – in Sportscasting. He went to Columbia University and Harvard Law (where he was elected the head of the Harvard Law Review). To me there isn’t even a contest there in terms of intellect and preparation.
Finally – let’s look at his executive experience over these last 2 years. He has run a campaign and managed hundreds of millions of dollars. His campaign has been focused, disciplined and smart. He has managed his people beautifully and financially they have been on point (as opposed to say Hillary’s campaign where there was leaking of information, in-fighting, and unpaid bills to vendors). I think that is important in that the job of president is an EXECUTIVE position.
Finally – what “experience” did Obama have and Palin have prior to politics? She decided on the noble world of beauty pagents and reading the sports news on a local TV show. He worked in the south side of Chicago trying to get communities to work together to improve their neighborhoods and schools.
This country will be blessed to have this educated, experienced man as our president – I hope it happens.
(By the way – most of the “right wing” writers – Kristol, Safire, Parker, etc. have all come to the conclusion that Sarah Palin is a frighteningly unqualified choice to president – so, Florida … look to your own party for agreement with my post… )
What do you think from both an astrological point of view and the common sense / logical point of view of how the Ayers / Acorn stuff would effect Obama and the elections overall. Astrologically, is there a way to tell the truth about how much each candidate is hiding or how much dishonesty has been a part of his/her life.
Obama:
Natal Chart:
Aquarius rising: Purpose is to usher in the New Age.
Uranus: 7th house, in Leo. This will be his whole being: in the eyes of others, he embodies a New approach, a new way of living.
A stellum in the sixth and seventh houses. Sixth house emphasis: If I didnt know who he was, I’d say he should have been a doctor. Sixth house craves order and organization. I hear he is a very disciplined person. And that aloof, cool Aquarius rising does give one that image.
Pluto on the seventh house, in Virgo. This may well be why John McCain can’t stand him: Obama’s Pluto falls right on McCain’s Sun. Seventh house Pluto also warns of powerful enemies, who do not always reveal their intentions. Obama has a seventh house Mars also. So add “pissed off” enemies to that last sentence.
He has a lovely grand water trine involving Chiron, Venus, and Neptune. I would imagine that when you talk directly to him, he would have the easy ability to charm the socks off ya. Thats an inborn talent that he has made good use of so far.
He has a lot of squares to his Midheaven. Ambitious.
I am concerned about the First house conjunction of Chiron and Part of Fortune. First house is the physical body. Harm may come to him, and thus, possibly more fame and power than if he comes through unscathed.
I also dont like the squares of sun/moon/mercury to his Neptune. Charm will only get you so far. It would be nice of he had a sextile or trine to Neptune from Saturn, but Saturn also squares his Neptune…..he may have some Grand Plans that will just not be possible to bring into being.
Saturn conjuncts Jupiter in the 12th house of endings. I have seen several presidents with planets in the 12th. Somehow that 12th house confers a strength, maybe from faith, that steels them for what must be done. Obama has a fear of God, which can be a good thing or a bad thing.
Transits on Election Day:
Saturn, unfortunately, is transiting his seventh house on 4 November, opposing uranus, and just coming around from a meet up with Pluto, headed for Mars. Combine this with Uranus transiting his first house (body), I still fear for some sudden, unexpected event that may harm him. Saturn here could also very nicely represent McCain, who is no Spring Chicken, the crochety old man that throws wet blankets on Obama’s big dreams.
Whats nice is the Obama will have Sun, moon, Venus, Mars, and Mercury all trooping across the high point in his chart on election day.
McCain:
Natal Chart: Oh, my Damn. Grand Cross in Mutable signs. “Change” is not one of his strong points. Listening to anyone else is also not his strong point. However, he has a very firm grasp of who he is as a person.
Libra Rising: I somehow just cant see McCain as a Libra rising. I wonder if the birth time is correct, here. Anyway, Libra is ruled by Venus. His Venus is in Virgo, cardinal air ruled by mutable Earth. Small wonder he can’t seem to settle into a groove with his campaign. He has never lived his life in a “groove”, or in a solid, predictable way. That looks to be one of the things he feels proud of: never being nailed down.
His temper? Look no farther than that square from his tenth house Mars to his seventh house Uranus. Thats it, right there! His anger can erupt with lightning speed, and then he will worry about the consequences later.
Physical and psychic stress is indicated by the opposition of moon and Pluto on the 4th/10th axis. There’s the torture chambers of Vietnam. There’s the lasting psychic damage; there’s Chiron in the ninth with a crisis of faith. A nice trine from Saturn in the 6th to Pluto in the tenth was what gave him the strength to see his ordeal through.
Sun moving pretty close to Neptune in his 11th house: His friends are not who they appear to be. He moves in glamorous circles; always has.
Venus and Mercury in the 12th (there goes that Presidential 12th house again!) karmic relationships……both pleasant and not so pleasant.
Election Day:
Saturn, taskmaster, will be joined with Venus in his 12th house. Fate, one way or the other, will be felt. he’ll have Mercury, Sun, and Mars all in his first house; you can bet he will be on the attack and ready to rumble right up to the end of the campaign. Jupiter and the transiting moon will be conjunct his natal fourth house moon: he will be at home watching the elections.
Trouble is here: Transiting Saturn opposition natal Saturn and Uranus this day. If he loses, it is going to be very difficult to accept. And Uranus will be conjunct his vertex; this has FATE, FATE, Fate written all over it.
Conclusion: If Obama wins, everyone must understand that he will be (and already is), in grave danger. He is extremely idealistic and has a new dream for this country. His VP must at all times be on the same page with Obama as they navigate a very difficult period in our nation. It is not going to be a cakewalk, and he will be deeply, intensely reviled and hated in many powerful circles. He must have courage.
If McCain wins, he may well not live out his term. Saturn Opposition Saturn is always a stressful transit. Stress does not bring out his higher qualities. he will be prone to snap decisions with long-term and destructive consequences. He is not able to evoke the changes that are needed if we are to survive. And should he pass away during his term, we will have a VERY ambitious, cold, and calculating VP who lacks the intelligence to make good choices.
Nancy, I really loved your insight on Barack Obama’s chart. I was in Seattle last week and met up with a friend who is a Vedic Astrologer. We both expressed concerned about the fate of Barack Obama, especially around March 2009.
I’m hoping the “hate mongering” that McCain has stirred up will settle down. I do believe Obama will win, but unfortunately he will have several hidden enemies to contend with.
Next year is going to prove to be life changing for all of us.
Thanks Nancy – that was a cool analysis. I am going to use what I know about Law of Attraction and picture Obama at age 80 surrounded by grandchildren as a elder head of state – knowing he did a great job as president (for 8 years) when he was in his 40’s.
stephanie,
Obama, the President of the Harvard Law Review? Please. He’s mister Magna Cum Affirmative Action. He got B’s in high school. He won’t release his grades from Occidental College nor Columbia. As President of the Harvard Law Review, he never published a scholarly/technichal article, which is customary. The guy who preceded Obama basically said Obama got the position not on the merits (grades) but on something else, i.e. Affiramtive Action. (Mind you, I’m pro Affirmative Action, but certainly not for the position of POTUS and “leader of the free world”.) After gradutating from Harvard Law, he never published a single article, nor argued a single case. His legal career is remarkably unremarkable, indeed downright mediocre.
He is no Thurgood Marshall–not by a long shot. Hillary Clinton on the other hand was named one of the top 50 lawyers in the country when she practiced. She wrote a number of seminal (technical/scholarly) articles prompting legal experts to call her one of the most important scholar-activists of her generation.
For the entire eight years Obama worked as a “civil rights” lawyer, he never argued a single case, but instead did the work of a first or second year junior lawyer, i.e. bureaucratic paper work. For the 12 years he taught at the prestigious University of Chicago, he never published a single article. He’s nothing more than a lowly lecturer who pads his resume by calling himself a “professor”. Long story short, Obama is a joke.
By his own admission, he accomplished little as a community activists. There’s must be hundreds, if not thousands of more successful community activists in the US–but we don’t see them running for President.
Two years ago, the media, e.g. Washington Post et al, were all calling Obama an “empty suit” who was “all style and no substance”. Give Palin two years, and she’ll be just a polished; note how well she did during the VP debate, with a mere few weeks of craming compared to Obama’s 2 years (of time running for Prez.) Hillary beat the pants off of Obama in every debate, even Donna Brazile has oppenly said this.
I do agree that Obama beat McCain in the debates, but that’s really only due to the prism of the economy imploding which reveals GOP policies to be nothing more than garbage. Truth is, Obama only beat McCain on style. Mind you, as a liberal Dem and a Hillary supporter, I agree with Obama on policy. I just can’t stand him for he is a vacuous con man.
Also, don’t forget that Palin is running for VP. Obama is running for Prez. Frankly, I don’t believe either of them are qualified to be Prez, but Palin is more qualified to be the Veep than He, The One, is to be POTUS. Recall that suring the primaries, Biden and a lot of other people explicitly said Obama was not qualified to be prez.
Palin 2 years of executive experience as a governor, whereas Obama has only 4 years of legislative experience as a US Senator. He’s done nothing in the Senate. All he does is pad his resume. Governor Patterson of New York, an African American simply could not, like so many Obama supporters before him, name a single accomplishment by Obama. Truth is, Obama has no accomplishments.
He is merely good a trash talking, resume padding and race baiting, which is precisely why he was able to beat Hillary Clinton. In the Democratic Party, to be painted a “racist” is tantamount to a banker being called a “thief”.
Look at what Obama did to Alice Palmer in 1996: He could never have defeated the incumbent Palmer, so he resorted to a truly ruthless eleventh hour tactic. He simply disqualified her voter petition ballots along with that of three other African Americans. Palmer, mind you, is a legendary community activist and a professor who was far more successful than Obama at community activism. So was her husband btw. He is also black. Palmer is a Hillary supporter–btw.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPQedyt10To
—CNN on Obama vs. Palmer, 1996. Amazing how on his first time out as a candidate, and he resorts to the most brazen and belligerent tactics.
P.S. You also deliberately forgot to mention the executive experience Palin had from the 6 years she served as the Mayor of Wasilla. Mind you, the Presidency is an executive job, not a legislative one.
P.P.S. I also love the way you shaved off 6 months from Palin’s term as Governor (i.e. 1 1/2 years as governor of Alaska) but added 6 months to Obama’s service, i.e. 12 years of office.)
P.P.P.S. You also forgot to mention his 130+ “present” votes in the Il. State Senate. And you also forgot to mention his incessant flip-flopping over everything from wearing flag pins to Jeremiah Wright to trashing Bill Clinton to FISA. Mind you, Bill and Hillary respectively have far stronger Civil Rights credentials than Barack, Michelle and Jeremiah put together. Indeed, Bill has (not the best, but certainly…) one of the best Civil Rights records out of anyone–black or white, dead or alive.
P.P.P.P.S. You also forgot to mention how a man, so famous for his words and themes, is constantly stealing other people’s lines:
1. “Yes, We Can!” —Stolen from Caesar Chavez.
2. “Hope” —stolen from Jesse Jackson circa 1984, Bill Clinton circa 1992.
3. “Change” –stolen from John Edwards, 2004
4. “We are the ones we are waiting for.” —Stolen from a Hopi Indian prayer. Ghandi has a similar saying, btw.
5. “Just words.” —Stolen from Deval Patrick, i.e. David Axelrod. And the entire speech for God’s sake.
6. “Fired up and ready to go!” —borrowed from an African American woman in S. Carolina.
7. “You’ve been hoodwinked. You’ve been bamboozled!” —Stolen from Denzel Washington, i.e. Spike Lee and the film “Malcom X”.
8. etc.
I’m just glad to know that Obama will win but please everyone don’t forget to VOTE : )
Btw, lovely website : )
You are accusing Obama of stealing the words “hope” and “change”? That’s hilarious (and reaching). Can’t you find anything else to criticize? Also – he never practiced law or worked as a legal researcher – hence no academic, scholarly journals – that was not his career path. How many scholarly journals did Ronald Reagan (I’m sure he’s your hero!) publish?
Barack Obama continues to rise in the polls. As predicted, Sarah Palin is getting the media bashing I expected. Although, I never expected her to love the “swag” so much. Who would guess a hockey mom would love to be so glamorous. Anyhoo, this next week astrologically is really going to be explosive. Stay tuned.
There is strong reason to believe that Obama was NOT born in Hawaii, but in Kenya. It must be true because Obama had the Hawaii Gov. seal his records last week. 7 lawsuits have been filed against Obama, but he still refuses to show his vaulted Birth Certificate. So, if that’s true, you got the wrong location on the chart.
Looks like McCain is winning anyway.
I think you should all do more research before you call Obama the winner. The guy is a huge fraud.
Why do you consider Obama a huge fraud? Why are all McCain/Palin supporters such haters? Obama is an amazing man, who promotes hope and change.
As far as Obama’s chart, we are basing it on how it relates to the US chart. Even if Obama’s chart is wrong, McCain and Palin’s is not.
I do believe it will be a close race but all polls point to an Obama win.
If we want to talk about lawsuits, lets talk Palin. I think there is your FRAUD candidate.
What a load of BS, this is a very one sided article, and has more to do with one hopes than astrology.
I’m assuming Jan that you’re an astrologer. What’s your prediction?
Yes I am very much into Astrology, have been my entire life, this article is filled far more with ones point of view than Astrology. I think Obama will win, Sarah Palin never tanked in the debate who won or loosed is of personal point of view, she is an Aquarius they are known to be cranky honest humanitarian and good at debates. Scorpions also are good at debates, wilful and penetrating they are also very good at stretching the truth, sad but true. it was a good debate though. Biden forgets nothing hmmmm have you herd his gaffs.
Thanks for posting a comment. This is a gossip blog with a cosmic twist. We touch upon astrology and of course we put our two cents in as well. We’re all pretty passionate about Obama here in LA.
From an astrological perspective, I just don’t see McCain winning. Behind the scenes, I do believe that Palin has been a handful for the McCain campaign. A true Aquarius, she is willful and independent.
I do think Biden is a true Scorpio. A behind the scenes guy that watches everything. I just think as a Scorpio, his ego gets in the way and he says way too much.
Anyhoo, thanks for your input.
Ha Ha Ha all very funny, look Elections are all very serious things, they should not be about slander that seems to be going on in the US election, yes I am a woman and do not like the nasty crap going on in the Medea over there, Sarah Palin is a wonderful mother and a very intelligent governor who got to her position by fighting all the way not by who she new. Every one over exadurate about themselves but you must live with you. I am not racist as in NZ I am voting for a Maori as Prime Minister yes they are brown but he is the best and well known at what he does, you are in the US headed for great change, but there is know need for the media to slag off Sarah becouse of the excitement of voting the first black President, its enough to make a person sick. by the way being willful and independents can be a very good thing, you don’t tend to follow the crowd (Maverick) thats what McCain likes about her, She would keep it honest. I don’t dislike Obama But I think his policies would F*** the US economy over along with the world. But good luck with that. When it comes to Astrology everyone has positive and negative sides, one can be more enhanced by the way they were raised. I love the USA my Brother in law is from there. Obama is no Martin Luther King.
I’m not excited about Obama because he’s a black man running for President. I’m excited about THE MAN Obama, running for President because he represents a message of hope and change. The election in 2000 was stolen from Gore, our country might be in a different place if it wasn’t for Bush.
In America we’re sick of the senseless war in Iraq. On Sarah Palin, I agree she is a smart woman. As a woman, I do not have the same values as her. I believe in gun control, the right to choose, and alternative energy. Her future son in law had to quit high school to support her pregnant daughter. He is now a 17 year old boy working construction to support his 17 year old pregnant wife. Seems very backwards to me. If you can spend $150k on designer clothes, let the kids stay in school so they can have a brighter future. Let them go to college. It’s going to be hard enough to raise a baby at 17 years old. Also, I don’t understand why McCain/Palin supporters are so hateful. It seems like a tremendous amount of hateful energy and nasty comments about Obama. That’s disgusting.
For the last 8 years, the Republicans have screwed our country over. I think it’s time we give back the leadership role to the democrats. Times are changing and I don’t want a 73 year old man at the helm.
You live in New Zealand, quite a bit different than living in LA. I love my country but it’s changing and we need someone with a more positive perspective. Diplomacy, hope, change, cooperation, communication, and prosperity for everyone will make this world a better place.
Obama is a smart man who will surround himself with thoughtful and intelligent leaders. My vote is for Obama’s and I hope others will vote for him as well.
Oh gosh not Gore, the man is a liar, he wants to make money from fresh air. If the US pulls out of Iraq the terrorists will take over, It is to fragile there will be more death and destruction and we will all blame Obama, McCain supporters are not Hateful but fearful of this secretive fairly unknown man if you understand humanity all people no mater what party have this problem fearing the unknown, the hateful behavior has been on both sides look at the way Palin has been treated that has been worse, as for her kids like Obama’s should be out of bounds. IMO US has not had it that bad , the economy is world wide problem we have been living it up, when you do that something has to give, and now it is. Obama will win and when things fall apart I hope you don’t mind people around the world will blame the likes of you for voting for him, what happens in the US affects the world, and there for the US election is of interest to us all, I keep myself well informed about US problems and the electoral system. Obama will tern the US into a nanny state. good luck with that. By the way She did not spend $150k one cloths the republican party did, as the lighting and the staging is not hers nor are the clothes. ask about Obama’s suites, is a stupid argument.
I have my own astrological analysis of the election and what I see is…the polls are not very accurate and I think there will be a surprise.
Hi Lynn,
I truly hope you are right:)
Woohoo…Obama won, in a landslide. God Bless America!
