BEYONCE KNOWLES - Do NOT Call Me a Pop Star, I am a Music Icon!

Yes, poor Beyonce, she’s tired of being a pop star, and now feels she is a music icon at the tender age of 27. I thought icon beyonceknowles.jpg status was reserved for artists in the industry for at least 20 years? I think the media decides when you’re an icon versus the artist.

iCeleb Reports:

Beyonce Knowles is “over being a pop star.” The “Crazy in Love” singer - who shot to fame in hit R’n'B group Destiny’s Child - admits she now feels it is time she is considered an “icon” in the music industry.

She said: “I’m over being a pop star. I don’t want to be a hot girl. I want to be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.”

I would agree, Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z are definitely superstars. Also, I would agree that Jay-Z is a music icon along with P-Diddy. On Beyonce, I don’t think she’s reached icon status “yet” like Whitney, Tina Turner, or Aretha Franklin. I think the public needs to see what she’s going to do for the next ten years before they crown her.

I love Beyonce, she’s gorgeous, talented, but could use a little help in the “humility” department. She has Sun in Virgo and they are usually much more humble. Maybe her sister Solange could take some lessons with her. Beyonce has two new movies coming out next year, Obsessed and Cadillac Records. Stay tuned.
