SARAH PALIN – Did Ex Beauty Queen Steal Mitt Romneys Vice Presidential Crown?

If reports are true, Sarah Palin was a last minute choice by John McCain. In the vetting process, it seemed like Mitt sarahpalin1.jpg Romney was close to being crowned Vice President. During a late night strategy session on Thursday, the tables were turned. It must have been after McCain watched Obama’s inspirational speech. In a last ditch effort, his staff had to do some quick thinking, choose a woman.

Why in the world did they pick Sarah Palin? In an interview on July 29th, Sarah Palin stated she didn’t even know what a Vice President did. (I’m not making this up.) In fact, she stated she would only consider the position once the responsibilities were explained to her. On top of that, McCain has only met Palin once in his life, and it was LAST FEBRUARY!

According to the Boston Globe:

John McCain’s surprise selection of Sarah Palin happened in the last days under great secrecy, according to a McCain campaign official who provided an account of the selection. The first-term Alaska governor appeared on some early lists of possible running mates. But she appeared to fall off the radar after a state investigation was launched over whether she abused her power by firing the state’s public safety commissioner in July, allegedly in retaliation for him refusing to fire a state trooper who had a contentious divorce with Palin’s sister.

Mitt Romeny is reported to be furious he was passed over. What is the Republican party thinking? I look forward to the next eight weeks of campaigning. It will be interesting to learn more about Ms. Palin and what she’ll be doing in the White House if elected. Maybe she should go hunting with Dick Cheney.
