Have you seen the latest cover of Shape magazine? Brooke Shields is showing off her banging body. It seems Lipstick Jungle is working wonders for her. What’s Brooky babe up to these days?

She appeared in a recent episode of Project Runway, her hit TV show starts its new season, and she’s a busy mom of two beautiful daughters. In addition, she recently recovered from painful foot surgery.

One interesting bit of trivia, did you know she was born into a family of aristocrats? Her paternal grandmother was Marina Torlonia (1916-1960), daughter of the Italian 4th Prince of Civitella-Cesi, an Italian aristocrat, and through him Brooke can claim descent from Henri IV, King of France, Lucrezia Borgia. (Lucrezia Borgia was known to poison her rivals and was rumored to have an incestuous relationship with her brother). Brooke’s second cousin, married in 1994 Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg (b. 1963), a younger brother of the reigning Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

When asked about her role on Lipstick Jungle, she replied:

“I really appreciate how these three characters honestly reveal a very modern concept of a woman, which isn’t a concept — it’s the truth,” Shields says. “Wendy was written to not feel like she had to become a man to be in business; to say, ‘I have children, do you have a problem with that?’ ” She pauses, playing with the beaded chain she’s wearing, before adding a comment that sounds more a reference to her personal life than her character: “That’s not to say that she doesn’t go home and worry that people aren’t respecting her professionally because she chose to have kids, and that a healthy marriage means that somehow she’s not interesting.”

What about hubby? Since 2001, she’s been happily married to Chris Henchy,  a popular television writer. Gotta love Brooke, girl power all the way.
