As the love affair continues, America’s new sweetheart Jason has announced he is THRILLED to be the new Bachelor. In his new interview, he states that he was asked at the AFTRC. Since then, he has been keeping a low profile, and enjoying quality time with his son Ty.

Film.com Reports:

On how he was asked: “Producers approached me at the After the Final Rose Special to see if I’d be interested in being the next Bachelor. All I could think was oh man, I am so excited — mostly because really I am just the most regular guy you could ever come across and for this to be happening to me is unbelievable. It just leaves me completely speechless.”

On whether he has dated since The Bachelorette: “I haven’t dated at all since DeAnna. I wanted to give myself the time to heal so that when I got out there again I was really ready to give whoever I am with the respect and total attention she deserves. And I am ready. I am through it and open to giving these girls everything I can to find the one that is right for me.”

He goes on to say he has been flooded with well wishes from friends, family, and fans. He’s excited to find his soulmate and is looking forward to starring in the show.
