This week, George Clooney with Julia Roberts hosted host this year’s Costume Institute gala at the Metropolitan Museum  of Art. Mariah was a no-show due to her recent quicky marriage to Nick Cannon.  On January 31, 2008, the United Nations named Clooney a “Messenger of Peace”. On a more scandalous note, it was reported in Variety Magazine that George Clooney had quietly resigned from the Writer’s Guild of America over controversy surrounding Leatherheads. Clooney, who is the director, producer, and star of the film, stated that he had contributed in writing, “all but two scenes,” of the film and requested a writing credit, along Duncan Brantley and Rick Reiley, who had been working on the project for 17 years. In an arbitration vote, Clooney lost 2-1 and ultimately decided to withdraw from the union over the decision. I don’t know, it sounds like George might be a bit of a control freak.

Tony Blair was elected Leader of the Labour Party in July 1994 following the sudden death of his predecessor, John Smith. Blair became the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on 2 May 1997. Yale University announced on March 7, 2008 that Blair will teach a course on issues of faith and globalization at the Yale Schools of Management and Divinity as a Howland distinguished fellow during the 2008–2009 academic year. Rumor is he may run for President of Europe in 2010.

Traci Lords first achieved notoriety for her underage appearance in porno flick, Behind the Green Door, and Penthouse magazine, later she became a television and B-movie actress. By the time she was 18, she had appeared in over 100 adult films. According to her biography, she only made $35,000 for all those films, and most was spent on rent and drugs.
